Mark
J. Katzman
is a native Rhode Islander a 1980 Graduate of The
University of Rhode Island
School of Nursing.
After graduation he practiced nursing in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida. He began in general
medical-surgical nursing and quickly moved to the
Coronary Intensive Care Unit where he eventually became
a Critical Care Unit Educator and a Charge Nurse. In
1987 he obtained his Master's Degree in Nursing (with a
focus on education) from Boston University, and then
became an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Boston
University. He is an elected member of Sigma Theta Tau -
The National Honor Association of Nursing.
Mark has been with
the firm since 1991. He is skilled in evaluation of cases involving all areas
of medicine, and is
especially adept in review of cases involving internal
medicine, cardiac care, complex injuries and
nursing home care. With his strong educational and
experiential background, he is qualified to assess
adherence to standards and guidelines of healthcare
practice. He acts as a liaison with attorneys, experts,
physicians and clients, He enjoys researching the
applicable literature and evidence to determine the
merits of a case and then educating clients and
attorneys regarding the medical facts and issues of the
case.
Mark also has
considerable organizational, computer, and research
skills and provides support during discovery,
depositions, trial and other legal proceedings.
