PREMISES LIABILITY
Premises liability
law refers generally to incidents that occur on
someone else’s property that was in a negligent or
unsafe condition. Property owners or parties
responsible for maintaining the property may
be held legally responsible for the injuries of
another if they knew or should have know the
dangerous condition that caused the harm.
For example, when
someone falls on a defective or inadequately
maintained surface such as a parking lot or
sidewalk, he or she may be entitled to compensation
for injuries suffered.
